Laminated Glass

Control Energy & Light

Control Energy & Light

Control Energy & Light

Boost energy efficiency with low-e coatings and tinted interlayers that cut heat and glare while preserving natural light.

Soundproofing

Control Energy & Light

Control Energy & Light

Laminated glass can provide a sound barrier to create a tranquil environment by dampening sound waves and reducing noise transmission.

What Is Laminated Glass?

Two or more layers of glass are bonded together with PVB through a process of heat and pressure.

Various laminated applications can include:

Hurricane resistance

Bullet resistance

Acoustical

Safety glazing

Overhead glazing

Structural glazing

decorative glass and floors

Interlayer Options

PVB vs SGP

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or SentryGlas (SGP) are two basic options for your interlayer. Both are available in a variety of thickness and color. SGP's yellow index is less than 1.5 and PVB's yellow index is 6-12 therefore SGP is visually clearer.

SGP is 5 times stronger than PVB.

Versatile and Sleek Solutions

Interlayers are utilized in laminated glass units to bind two glass panels together, offering numerous benefits such as enhancing safety and security, controlling acoustics, and incorporating colorful design elements.

At ADG, we have a broad collection of interlayers, including standard PVBs with thicknesses ranging from 0.015" to 0.090", as well as several specialty interlayers, including STC-rated products, such as:

- Dupont

- SentryGlas

- Vanceva Colors

- Vanceva Storm

- Saflex HP

Types of Lamination

LAMINATED INSULATED

DOUBLE LAMINATED INSULATED

LAMINATED INSULATED

Laminated insulating glass is a combination of insulated glass with a laminated outboard. Typically, this application is applied where exterior is overhead or common hurricane zones where safety glazing is required.

INSULATED LAMINATED

DOUBLE LAMINATED INSULATED

LAMINATED INSULATED

Insulated Laminated glass is a combination of insulated glass with a laminated inboard. The laminated inboard is typically used in locations to provide protection from man made threats such as bomb blasts and forcible entry or natural disasters such as hurricanes.

DOUBLE LAMINATED INSULATED

DOUBLE LAMINATED INSULATED

A double laminated insulated unit is composed of a laminated inboard and a laminated outboard. The double laminated features adds another layer of protection and noise interference. Schools typically will use this composition for the acoustics and safety standards.
